Configure Admin Checklist Decisions in S1M

By default, Author Portal acknowledges only decisions made from a decision task in ScholarOne (S1M), but you can configure S1M so that Author Portal also acknowledges decisions made from an Admin Checklist task.

Before you begin

You must have access to the S1M Configuration Center.

Procedure

  1. In S1M, click Support > Configuration Center.
  2. Click Configure This Site.
  3. Click step 8, Task Configuration.
  4. For each workflow, locate the Admin Checklist task.
    For example, highlighted below is the Admin Checklist task for the submitted manuscript workflow:
  5. Click the icon under the Edit column for the Admin Checklist task.
    A new window will open with the task details.
  6. In the new window, do the following:
    1. Under Task Details, check if either or both of the following are enabled:
      • The Checklist can render an immediate reject decision
      • Allow the user to render a Reject with Transfer decision
      For example, the task shown in the image below has been configured to support Reject decisions from the Admin Checklist task, but not Reject with Transfer decisions:
      Note: If the Reject with Transfer decision option is not currently configured but you would like it to be, consult your ScholarOne configuration expert.
    2. Under Task Performers, from the select a role: dropdown, select which role can perform the task, for example, Admin.
    3. Click the icon under Add/Delete.
      The window will refresh and the role you selected will be displayed under Who Can Perform.
    4. Click Save.
      The window will refresh.
    5. Close the window.
  7. Click Support > Configuration Center.
  8. Click Flush Cache.

What to do next

Once the Admin Checklist tasks are configured as required, configure notifications for the following System Events:
  • Immediate Reject Decision from the Checklist
  • Immediate Reject With Transfer Decision from the Checklist
