Configure Authorship Changes on ScholarOne
Procedure
-
From the Custom Questions configuration area, click Advanced View.
-
Create a new Detail Group with the following details:
- Name: Authorship Changes
- Page: Authors & Institutions (name may vary depending on individual site, but the recommendation is to add this information to the page with the relevant author details)
- Submission Group (as relevant): DEFAULT and REX
- Order can follow the configurator's preference
-
Select the Add Questions action and create a question with the following details:
- Question Name: Authorship Changes (you can customize this question name,
as it is not a connection point between Author Portal and ScholarOne, but it is significant for
email tag usage in ScholarOne email communications. This example's
resulting email tag in ScholarOne would be
##TAG_AUTHORSHIP_CHANGES##)
- Question Text: Authorship Changes
- Answer Type: Textarea
- Include in advanced search and create an email tag for this question
- Answer Name: text
- Answer External ID: REX-CQ-AC-01x
-
Create a layout for this question, 2 rows and 1 column.
- In the first cell, apply the Authorship Changes with the Color Light Grey and Bold.
- In the second cell, apply the answer area only. Select “on” for the table border and save.
-
Be sure to flush the configuration cache.
What to do next

Settings tab of the Author Portal Admin Tool, and then for individual journals from the Additional Features tab of each journal's configuration options.
