Before you begin

You must have access to the S1M Configuration Center to perform this task.

Before performing this task, ensure that you have previously completed the following steps:

  1. Download the Email Templates XML File
  2. Modify the Email Templates in the XML File

About this task

Prior to Author Portal go-live, we recommend that you upload the updated XML template to ScholarOne Manuscripts.

Procedure

  1. In S1M, click Support > Configuration Center.
  2. Click Configure This Site.
  3. Click step 23, E-Mails.
  4. Under E-Mail Tools, click Browse.
A file browser window will open.
  5. In the file browser window, select the modified templates.xml file to upload.
The file browser window will close. In ScholarOne, the name of the selected file will be displayed next to the Browse button.
  6. Click Upload.
A new ScholarOne Progress window will open. Initially, as the file is being uploaded, the window will display a graphic.

When the file upload has completed, the window will refresh, and will display details about the following results:

    • Whether the file was parsed successfully.
    • The number of email templates found in the file.
    • The number of modified templates.
    • The number of unmodified templates.
    • The number of templates with invalid formatting.
    • Whether the templates were uploaded successfully.
  7. Click Close Window to close the Progress window.
  8. Configure the Remote Integration emails as required:
    1. From the Select area: dropdown at the top of the page, select System E-Mails.
    2. Enable or disable the External System Draft Submission Failed and/or the External System Draft Submission Successful emails according to you requirements.
Check or ncheck the box under the Active column for each email to enable or disable it.

These emails notify the recipient regarding whether a specific submission made through Author Portal was successfully ingested by ScholarOne.

Note: It is recommended to keep the External System Draft Submission Failed email enabled so that admins are notified when ScholarOne fails to ingest submissions made through Author Portal, but to disable the External System Draft Submission Successful email so that admins are not overwhelmed by the volume of emails received. However, there is no technical requirement that either email be enabled or disabled.
    3. Click Save.
