Configure S1M to Automatically Export Submissions to TechRxiv
You can configure ScholarOne to automatically export submissions to TechRxiv hosted on Authorea.
Before you begin
Procedure
- In S1M, click .
- Click Configure This Site.
- Click step 6, Custom Questions.
- Click Advanced View.

Under Details Group Name, select
aptest-ieee...TechRxiv
from thecopy from another site:
dropdown.Note: When you click thecopy from another site:
dropdown, it may take a few seconds to display the available options. - Click Go.

Under Detail Group Properties, locate the row where the Detail Name is
TechRxiv
and click the button in the Edit column. -
Under Details Group Name, select
DEFAULT
andAuthor Portal
in the Submission Group: field. - Click Go.
- Optionally click Dependencies to add a dependency.
- Click .

Under Production Coordinator Tools and Exports, click Batch.

Under Add a Batch, do the following:

Contact ScholarOne and request that the timing for the
Authorea
batch be set toreal time
. - Click .
- Click step 7, Workflow Configuration.

Click Edit Workflow for
Submitted Manuscript Workflow
. -
From the left pane, locate the Assign to Batch task and drag and drop it into the right pane.
The Edit Task window will open.

In the Edit Task window, enter
Export to Authorea
in theName:
field. -
Click Save.

In the right pane, do the following:

Click Save.
The Information window will open.

Click Ok to confirm and close the Information window.
- Click Submitted Workflow.
-
Select Resubmitted.
- Repeat the steps to set up an Export to Authorea task for the Resubmitted Workflow.
- Click Configure This Site.
- Click step 8, Task Configuration.

Under
Submitted Manuscript Workflow
, locate the row withExport to Authorea / no performer
in the Task Name / Performer column. -
Click the icon in the Edit column.
A new window will open.

In the new window, under Task Performers and
Who Can Perform
, select Admin from theselect a role:
dropdown. -
Click the icon under
Add/Delete
.The Admin role is added under Task Performers. - Under Task Details and Name, select Authorea.

Click the plus icon (
+
) next to Authorea.Authorea
will be added under Name. - Click Save.
- Close the window.

Repeat the steps to configure the
Export to Authorea
task for theResubmitted Manuscript Workflow
. - Click step 9, Manuscript Lists.

Under Add a Manuscript List, do the following:

In the
Name:
field, enterAwaiting Export to Authorea
. -
In the
Visible to:
field, check the Admin box. -
From the
Task:
dropdown, selectExport to Authorea(ORIG)
. - In the Status: field, press Ctrl and click to select Pending, Processing, and Overdue.

Click the Add button that is to the right of the
Status:
field.

In the

Repeat the steps above to add the
Export to Authorea(RES)
task. - Click the Add button that is in the bottom right of the Add a Manuscript List section.
- Click step 10, Dashboard.

From the
Select a Role
dropdown, select Admin. -
Edit the values under the Order column so that the value for the
Awaiting Export to Authorea
row is greater than the corresponding value for theAwaiting Admin Checklist
row.For example, set theAwaiting Export to Authorea
value to1
and theAwaiting Admin Checklist
value to0
. -
Click the Save button for the Dashboard Queue Name section.
The tasks will be re-ordered so that
Awaiting Export to Authorea
will appear afterAwaiting Admin Checklist
. - Click Configuration Dashboard.
- Click Flush Cache.
Results
Click
.Under Admin Lists, a new step is added,
Awaiting Export to Authorea
.
