More than one person has supplied the same primary email address

The submission fails with ScholarOne error code 88.

Why it happens

More than one ScholarOne person user account exists for one of the reviewer or editor email addresses included in the submission. ScholarOne does not allow multiple accounts to use the same primary email address.

This error is similar to ScholarOne error code 30, Duplicate email address, but is specific to reviewer and editor accounts.

To resolve

Procedure

  1. Merge the two accounts that have the same email address in ScholarOne.
    The steps for merging ScholarOne accounts are described in more detail in Duplicate email address.
  2. Resubmit the manuscript in Author Portal.
