Resubmit as New

Use this action when a submission failure cannot be resolved in any other way.

Procedure

  1. From the Submissions tab of the Admin Tool, locate the required submission.
  2. For that submission, click Action > Resubmit as New.
    Note: If there is already a record for the original submission in ScholarOne, that record will be orphaned and will no longer be connected to the newly resubmitted Author Portal submission. The resubmitted submission will have a new Manuscript ID at ScholarOne, and it will not have any history.
  3. In ScholarOne, do one of the following to handle the orphaned submission:
    • If the orphaned submission is in draft, delete it.
    • If the orphaned submission is pending revision with the author, set the revision expiration date in ScholarOne to expire immediately.
    • Withdraw the orphaned submission, although that might have undesirable implications for reporting.
    • Attach a note or flag to the orphaned submission.
    Note: Whichever of the above options you choose, ensure not to withdraw the newly resubmitted record.
