Author Portal Management Guide
This user guide includes instructions for managing submissions and troubleshooting
failed submissions.
Manage In-Flight Manuscripts The process to manage in-flight manuscripts.
View Submissions You can view all submissions on your Author Portal platform and filter them by certain criteria, such as by journal.
Add Comments You can add comments to the submissions you can access. Added comments display on the bottom left of the submission in the Submissions list and are visible only to other administrators. You can add any number of comments to a single submission.
Check S1M Status For submissions with a status other than Draft, you can check if there is a mismatch between the submission's status in Author Portal and its status in ScholarOne.
Change Submission Ownership You can change a submission's owner from the Submissions tab of the Admin Tool.
Submit a Manuscript on Behalf of the Author As an administrator, there may be cases where you need to create a submission on behalf of an author, for example, to help the author overcome a technical issue.
Troubleshooting Failed Submissions Failed submissions can be resubmitted, returned to revision state, or resolved.
