Peer Review Policy

Edit the journal peer review policy in the Basic information tab.

Before you begin

You must have Tenant/Publisher Super User permissions or higher to edit these settings.

If you will be enabling double-anonymized peer review or the ability for the author to select how their submission will be peer reviewed, ensure that the necessary S1M configuration is in place.

Procedure

  1. Edit the journal basic information.
  2. Select the journal Peer Review policy from the dropdown.
    • Single-Anonymized Peer Review
    • Double-Anonymized Peer Review
The default policy is Single-Anonymized Peer Review.

  3. Alternatively, check the Enable Author Selects Peer Review box.
When this option is selected, the main peer review policy dropdown is grayed out.
  4. Click Save changes.

Results

When submitting a manuscript to a journal with double-anonymized peer review enabled, submitters are prompted to upload their main manuscript and title page as separate files.

What to do next

If you select Double-Anonymized Peer Review or Enable Author Selects Peer Review, the following file designations are added to the journal:
  • Title Page
  • Anonymized Main Document - MS Word
  • Anonymized Main Document - LaTeX File
  • Anonymized Main Document - PDF

You can configure these file designations, for example, reorder them or edit their instruction text, from the File Designations tab.
