A new Research Topics additional information has been added that supports a structured, hierarchical list of keywords (research topics).
Improved Author and Administrator Experience for Submissions That Are Resubmitted as New
When administrators resubmit a submission as new, only the latest submission is displayed in the submitter's Author Portal dashboard, but they can access the initial submission by clicking a hyperlink.
Increased Limit of Journals per Journal Administrator
The limit of journals that can be administered by the same Journal Administrator was increased from 25 to 300.
Automatic Parsing of Unmatched Author Affiliations
When Author Portal is unable to match authors' affiliations as provided in the manuscript, it now automatically parses the relevant affiliation text in the manuscript and attempts to extract the following data for each affiliation:
- Institution name
- Department(s)
- Country
- State/Province
- City
- Postcode
- Street Address
Author Portal then sends the extracted data to ScholarOne.
Article Type Deactivation and Activation
Administrators can now deactivate an article type without deleting it in a journal configuration.
Double-Anonymized Peer Review and LaTeX Support
Single-Blind
and Double-Blind
language in Author Portal has
been replaced with Single-Anonynmized
and
Double-Anonymized
.
Additionally, double-anonymized peer review is now supported for journals that accept submissions where the main document is in LaTeX format. Previously, when configuring a journal in Author Portal, it was not possible to enable both LaTeX main document support and double-anonymized peer review.
Updated Journal Administrator Access
To avoid unintentional misconfigurations, Journal Administrator access has been modified so that users with that role can no longer edit in Author Portal additional information questions that require ScholarOne configuration.
Early Career Research Additional Information Question
The question title has been updated from ECR (Early Career Researcher) Outreach
to Early Career Researcher Services
and an additional option has been added.
Submission Owner Reassignment Failure Warning
Author Portal now displays an error message if submission ownership reassignment fails either when an admin initiates it or when a submitter attempts to accept ownership.
Improved Author Usability
Unnecessary fields, such as Abstract, are no longer included in the Final Review submission step.
