Administrative User Levels
The level of administrative access depends on the user’s permissions.
User Level | Permissions |
---|---|
Super User | Can access all tenants/publishers. |
Tenant/ Publisher Super User | Can access all publications for a specific publisher. |
Publication/ Journal Administrator | Can access all assigned publications for a certain tenant publisher. |
Submissions Admin | For assigned publications, can access submissions, proxy as an author, and take submission-related actions. |
Submissions Viewer | Can view submission information for assigned journals but cannot make changes. |
External Submissions Admin | Similar to the Submissions Admin role, with the following

To request Tenant/ Publisher Super User permissions, contact your account manager. To request any other level of permissions, you can also contact a Tenant/ Publisher Super User. Provide the email address of the Author Portal account for which the permissions should be granted.
The hierarchy of user roles and their permissions in Author Portal is cumulative. For example, the Submission Administrator role includes all the permissions of the Submission Viewer role, and the Journal Administrator role includes all the permissions of both the Submission Viewer and Administrator roles. Refer to the following table for more details regarding the permissions per role.
