Complete Transfer Import

Regardless of the submission import mode selected, you must review the details in the transfer ticket in order to resolve any potential discrepancies before completing the transfer and inviting the author to complete their new submission to the destination journal.

Before you begin

You must start a submission transfer from the Author Portal Transfer Admin Dashboard.

About this task

Manuscript details and submission information are presented side-by-side in a single Complete Transfer Import screen to facilitate comparison.

Procedure

  1. Check and review the transfer ticket details to resolve any discrepancies in article type or file designation requirements between the previous and destination journals.

Information in the Review Manuscript Details section is displayed for reference and cannot be edited, however it should be reviewed carefully for completeness. If any details are incorrect, such as an incorrect destination journal having been selected, click Cancel Transfer.

The destination journal’s Submission ID will remain blank until you complete the transfer. This field will then be automatically populated once the submission has been successfully sent to Author Portal and assigned a submission ID. After the draft submission has been completed by the author, sent to the destination journal, and ingested by ScholarOne, it will also be assigned a new ScholarOne Manuscript ID.

Note: Using the Advanced Search in the Author Portal Transfer application you can locate transfer tickets by searching for either the Supporter Submission ID (the ScholarOne manuscript ID of the previous journal) or the Destination Submission ID (the Author Portal submission ID of the destination journal), as well as other search parameters.
  2. Resolve Discrepancies in the Submission Information
  3. Check the Peer Review Files of a Transferred Submission
  4. When you have reviewed and are ready to complete the transfer, click Send to Author.
