Scope Check
The Scope Check section assesses how well a manuscript fits the scope of the journal by comparing it to content previously published by that journal.
Editors can use this section as a quick indicator of how well an article matches the journal's scope.
In addition to listing the five published articles most similar to the submitted manuscript, Author Portal also displays the following in this section:
- The scope match score, which displays by what percentage the submitted manuscript matches the scope of the journal.
- For each of the five most similar articles, a link to the published article page and its publication date.
- The total number of articles published in the journal that are similar to the submitted manuscript.
Editors can provide their feedback on how accurate the results are by clicking one of the available answers to the How accurate is this Scope Check? question. The available answers are:

Author Portal uses this feedback to continually improve the accuracy of the results.
