About the Submission Screening Report
The Submission Screening Report provides editors with useful and automated bibliography/reference screening results, helping them review references faster.
The Submission Screening Report report is included in the submission package and contains:
- The report header, which displays the article type, title, authors, affiliations, journal name, Author Portal submission ID, and key dates.
- The Submission Data Quality, which indicates if key metadata such as title, abstract, authors, and affiliations was extracted from the manuscript or provided manually by the author.
- The Submission Metrics abstract word count, with manuscript word count, number of figures, and number of tables.
- The Scope Check, which assesses how well a manuscript fits the scope of the journal by comparing it to content previously published by that journal.
-
The References report, where each reference is listed, as well as:
- Validated, corrected, and converted to journal style.
- Linked to DOI, PubMed and other sources, if available.
- Flagged to indicate retraction, expression of concern, pre-print, or inability to validate the reference.
Reformatted references are included in an MS Word document.
- The Submission Requirement Acknowledgements, which are the submitter's answers to the submission requirement questions, as collected in Author Portal.
- The report footer.
